Syaxelians

Appearances

The Syaxelians are humanoïd-like beings very similar to humans in appearance. Generally slightly taller than the average human, Syaxelians also generally have smaller noses. Due to their cultural and mostly, personnal preferences, they often adopt many varient and somewhat, unnatural colors that aren't limited to hair dying. Mostly defined as vestimentary style; hair, eyes, skin and clothes can be displayed in static of even, dynamic projections of basic or complex coloring displays.


Lifespan and Age Sickness

The lifespan of a Syaxelian is a very confusing and misunderstood concept. Benefacting from various technological and cultural advantages, the Syaxelians are a rather healthy race. Due to very advanced medical as well as nutritionnal capabilities, the average physical lifespan of a Syaxelian body is around 700 years. It is, however, easy to prolonge it undefinitly using either (or both) cloning, biological "reconditionings" or virtual transfer. Despite the physical capabilities to live well beyond 700 years, it is unknown, or rather misunderstood, why generally when the particular's physical lifespan is nearly reached, an individual will slowly start to be what we call "Age Sick". Age Sickness is the mental state in which a person will feel "tired of living". Without necessarily expressing suicidal intentions, Age Sick persons will often display a rather calm and positive opinion about a natural death. The most confusing part being how truly generalised this condition is, affecting even the usually most opposite minds who, all their life, had sworn to want to live forever. Technically, it would be possible to either clone, biologically recondition or even offer them to be virtually transfered. The most plausible explaination, so far, is that it is an evolutionary instinct of our mind, a fail-safe biological trigger to protect the natural evolution process of Syaxelians.


Cybernetics

It is frequent to see biological or cybernetic enhancements. Most of them serving the strick goal of compensating for rare yet possible disabilities. Ihey are mostly used to enhance the general population to a said "normal" level. Any overenhancements beyond that limit is considered illegal both to moral and actual laws. While illegal to the major population, overenhancements are sometimes permitted for military or law enforcement purposes.


GD and AGDs (Telekinesis)

Very rare, what we commonly call a GD is a Genetic Disorder involved with the S chromosome. A genetic disorder normally is a disease that is caused by an abnormality in an individual’s DNA. Abnormalities can range from a small mutation in a single gene to the addition or subtraction of an entire chromosome or set of chromosomes. In the case of a GD, it is the addition of the S chromosome wich can cause many forms of important mutations. Often characterised by telekinesis abilities, GDs and AGDs (Artificial Genetic Disorders) are nearly always subjected to a very high aggresivity due to the intense genetic instability. The S chromosome is a very charged and active one. When a subject is experimenting a GD, the S chromosome will constantly try to generate changes on thier body, constantly updating its structure to send new information to the genes. This proactivity causes the body to self-defend against it. But this fight between the mutation and the other chromosomes makes the subject aggressive. Since the other chromosomes are too busy trying to restructure the DNA, the body might even loose most of its brain activity. Every negative reaction in the brain causes the body to raise its level of aggressiveness, pushing him to destroy his surrounding, and also living forms.

AGDs are pretty similar to GDs besides the fact that they have been artificially engineered to acquire certain abilities. Often failed, these experiments are highly illegal and considered as a very serious immoral act.
